How we got started
Two birthmothers with a dream . . .
One birthmother, Donna, started an adoption agency that was respectful and helpful to expectant parents. The agency that grew was Adoption Services, Inc. Now in its 25th year of business, Adoption Services employs birthmothers, adoptive parents, and adoptees who are dedicated to helping all members of the triad prosper through their adoption experience.
The second birthmother, Katie, became a mentor with Adoption Services, and decided that it was time for a real support group. One that actually was helpful! Donna enthusiastically agreed - and here we are! Two birthmothers with a dream, creating a safe place for all birthparents - Birthparent Forum!
Our Philosophy
All birthparents are indeed Mothers and Fathers to their children. Birthparents are a group of persons who made a loving and responsible parenting choice in placing their child for adoption. This choice should be respected and at times celebrated.
Our Mission
To allow birthparents an open and welcome atmosphere to learn, express, and accept the many dimensions of adoption.
